 Josh Writes;
Before I say anything, watch this;

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of why America is fucked.

I'm sorry, but this is looking to be one of the worst possible election years in history. It's going to be either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama versus John McCain. Now I'm a registered Democrat, but if it comes down to that, I'm voting McCain.

Now don't get ahead of me. I'm not talking down Hillary because she's a woman, and I'm not devaluing Obama because he's black. I've personally despised Hillary Clinton since she started speaking openly about her pro-censorship position. Bottom line, people like her in power is bad for people like me. Straight-forward, and fair enough.

Barack Obama I have no hatred for. Quite the opposite, I like the man. Think his head is in the right place, and he has some good ideas. But... And this is where I'm probably going to piss a lot of you off... He's only winning the polls because he's black.

Well now that I've said that, I'm sure half of you are dismissing me as a bigot. But, for all the arguably negative personality traits I've aquired over the years, racism isn't one of them. The reason I'm not ready to vote Obama is simple: Barack Obama is a first-term senator. Read; Inexperienced in politics.

I mentioned this to an old friend of mine the other day and his response was one that I'm sure many of you agree with. He said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Fucking A he's inexperienced! Political experience = corruption!" Cop-out, anyone? Yes, politics CAN at times be corrupt. Many times, even. That's why you want the top guy to have as much experience as possible in dealing with the corruption. How else can he be expected to fix it?

McCain isn't a perfect choice, mind you. Parkinson's seems to be setting in on him, sadly, and he is running republican, which I'm generally against on principle. But, the man is a moderate, the man has experience, and he spent nearly a decade in a cage for his country. If that's not "earning it", I don't know what is.

I actually think McCain for president, while ideally would go swimmingly, is actually a bad idea in the long run. The Presidency has a habit of turning vibrant men into silver-maned senior citizens over the course of an 8 year run, and seeing as how McCain is already gray and (Sorry for the choice of words, but) enfeebled, I honestly think he'd be lucky to maintain his dignity and composure through a single 4-year term.

In 4 to 8 more years, I guarantee you I'd vote for Barack Obama. He's a strong man with a strong plan. I'm just not sure he has the practice needed to set that plan in motion... That said, he may win the Presidency this election. And if he does, you know what? I'll betcha he does fine. Say what you will about George Bush, but at least he's an easy act to follow.
